Lakeside – French Teacher/ Other Assignments

Lakeside School Kelowna is seeking an experienced part-time French teacher for Grades 1 to 6 ( 6 hours/wk), an after school supervisor (3:00-5:00/M-Th- 8 hrs/week), and a gym teacher (2hrs/wk) .We welcome you to join a team of dedicated teachers who are responsible for nurturing, guiding, challenging, and caring for the academic, social, emotional and creative development of our students.

JOB DUTIES:

Teachers have a passion for inspiring a love of learning in children and youth. Key qualities are strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will have excellent class management and organizational skills.

The class teacher will also be responsible for:

Attendance at faculty meetings
Facilitating parent evenings and meetings
Filling in as a substitute teacher in other classrooms
Lesson Planning and classroom preparation
Report writing
Record keeping
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Be eligible for a BC Teaching Certificate with the Teacher Regulation Branch
Fluent in written and spoken English
Current First-Aid Certificate
3 Written References
Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status
