Toy & Resource Donations

Research shows play can improve children’s abilities to plan, organize, get along with others, and regulate emotions. In addition, play helps with language, math and social skills, and even helps children cope with stress.

The Early Learning Toy & Resource Library is for Early Childhood Educators, ECE Students, Caregivers, Parents and all who are interested in quality early learning and care.

Childhood Connections has a publicly accessible collection of books, resources & materials related to early years education and care. Our library provides a collection of items which support and recognize learning abilities, cultural diversity and the health & well being around us.

The book & resource library features a range of topics including: ECE theory and practice, program planning, child care administration and more.

You are able to view items online but you cannot reserve. Please call the office if you have questions. 250-762-3536 Ext 3 or email resource@childhoodconnections.ca




Early Learning Toy & Resource Library Open!

The library is open for all members to resume borrowing.

Curbside pickup is still available for those interested.

  • all items must be called in advance
  • Memberships must be up-to-date
  • Please call our office Monday thru Friday during office hours to arrange pickup (250-762-3536). We need at least 24 hours notice to prepare your items.
  • We will bring items outside

In-Person Borrowing.

  • Access the library in person during office hours.
  • Browse what is currently available and make your selections.

Early Learning Toy & Resource Lending Guidelines

Each item in the resource library represents a substantial financial investment. Please use them responsibly and treat them as your own.

Childcare Provider Professionals (Licensed Group, Licensed Family, RLNR Family)

  • may borrow a maximum of 10 items.
  • 2 items can be from the Large Equipment category or the Activity Box category.
  • Childcare providers CAN reserve items

Parent/Community members

  • may borrow a maximum of 5 items.
  • 1 item can be from the Large Equipment category or the Activity Box category.
  • Parent/Community CANNOT reserve items

** Items may be borrowed for up to 1 month **

All Members

  • Infant/Toddler Equipment
    • Includes items such as strollers, highchairs, baby gates, playpens and booster seats
    • Do not count toward the borrowing maximum
    • May be borrowed for 3 months
  • Resource Books
    • do not count in the borrowing maximum
    • Books can be renewed after 1 month
