Family Resource Programs

Family Resource Programs of BC (FRP-BC), is a membership organization dedicated to promoting and supporting programs for families. Childhood Connections is a proud FRP member. It is our mission to provide programs, services and resources to support families. As such, we work diligently to build and support the development of healthy families in the Central Okanagan. We offer many activities, programs, and workshops geared to families with children 0-6 years old. Most of our programs are free, and many are drop-in programs. Strawberry Picking & Rhyme Time 2023

Please only sign up for one date.

1 ticket per family or childcare provider.

We are thrilled to be collaborating again in with Helen's Acres on bringing this free event for families and family childcare programs in the Central Okanagan.

Rhyme time will begin at 10 am until 10:30 am and then families will be given 2 containers to pick strawberries.

Families will be able to take home one and then leave the other at the farm for families in need.

Connect & Play Group Drop in

Every Monday and Friday from 10am -11am we will have our Hosted by our Community Program Consultant providing facilitated activities for children.

Located at Childhood Connections

Spend quality time with your child exploring craft materials together, playing and Connect with other parents, grandparents, caregivers and family childcare providers.

Space is open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am - 4:30pm.

Tuesday and Thursday please check ahead as this space maybe used for community events or training.

We are now offering free monthly activity bags for parents to engage in with their children!

Pick up at Childhood Connections, Monday - Friday  from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm.

Nourish Families

If you or someone you know is struggling during this time and could benefit from weekly meals and other family supports, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Families may be referred by a community agency, their child care provider or even self-referred.

Playful Healing

On-Going

Playful Healing was designed to support children who are struggling in their day to day life with feelings of worry, uncertainty, isolation, and unhappiness and whose families are unable to afford expensive therapy. By providing FREE, one-to-one therapy, we help children manage and cope with behavioural struggles and anxiety.

Circle of Security for Families Course

On- Going

At times all Childcare Providers feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

This course will be facilitated by a trained COSP facilitator

8 Sessions, must be able to attend all session

16 hours of Professional Development Certificate
