This course offers the opportunity for adults wanting to enter the child care field, no matter which child care choice. It satisfies the requirements for:
- School Age Group Child Care (licensed).
- Occasional Child Care (licensed).
- As a replacement or a substitute/casual on call for Early Childhood Education Assistants in licensed group child care centres or preschools.
- Casual family drop-in programs, family child care assistants or other related positions.
- Opening a licensed family child care or registered license not required (RLNR) child care.

This is an entry level course, and participants who successfully complete the units of Health, Safety, Nutrition, Development, Guidance and Programming will satisfy the 20 hours of recognized training and will be certified as a Responsible Adult working in Licensed Child Care, as required by the current BC Child Care Licensing Regulations.
Participants must be at least 19 years old to register and receive a satisfactory mark in order to receive a certificate of completion. After completing the Foundations of Child Care Course, participants will receive a certificate that clearly spell out the units, subjects and hours completed.
Please note: Once you have completed your registration allow 5-7 business days . Once your coursework has been submitted please allow 5-10 business days for the facilitator to review and mark your material, and create your certificate. Please ensure that each unit has your name and email address.
